Pepper Chicken

I’m always in the mood for a delicious Indian chicken curry. Here’s one that I will keep coming back to because you can’t go wrong with pepper chicken! It’s loaded with flavor and smells fantastic. Enjoy!

Time: 

  • Prep time – 15 minutes
  • Cook time – 20 minutes

Ingredients: 

  • Chicken (Chopped into small pieces) – 500 g
  • Red Onion (Finely Chopped) – 2
  • Tomato (Chopped) – 2
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1.5 tsp
  • Garam masala Powder – 1 tsp
  • Chicken broth – 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon Stick – 1 or 2-inch stick
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Method: 

  1. Heat the oil in a wok
  2. Add the chicken and mix until it becomes brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Add the onion and mix until it is golden-brown
  4. Add the cumin, fennel, and mustard seeds. Mix well for a minute
  5. Add the ginger-garlic paste and mix for 2 minutes
  6. Add the chilly powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, and garam masala. Mix well for a minute
  7. Add the tomatoes. Mix until it is cooked through
  8. Add the chicken, chicken broth, cinnamon stick, and salt to taste. Mix well, then cover and cook until the chicken is cooked through
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves
  10. Serve with roti or rice 🙂
