Part of my comfort food list, this dish is a simple one bringing out the excellent flavors of chicken and broccoli. Homely and delicious with every single bite. I made it on a cold day and it warmed my heart and stomach! Enjoy it with a bowl of rice 🙂
Time:
- Prep time – 20 minutes
- Cook time – 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- Boneless Chicken Thighs (Cut into small chunks) – 450 g
- Season with some Black pepper powder
- Broccoli Florets – 2 cups
- Vegetable Oil – 3 to 4 tbsp
- Ginger Squeeze or Freshly minced Ginger – 1 tbsp
- Garlic (Finely Chopped) – 1 tsp
- Oyster Sauce – 1/4 cup
- Toasted Sesame Oil – 2 tsp
- Water – 1/4 cup
- White Sugar – 1 tsp
- Low Sodium Soy Sauce – 1 tsp
- Cornstarch – 1 tsp
- Mix with 1 tbsp of water
Method:
- Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a flat, wide base, frying pan over medium heat. Add the broccoli and saute for about 4 minutes
- Add the ginger and garlic and mix for another minute
- Set aside the cooked broccoli and wipe the pan clean
- Add the remaining vegetable oil and heat it
- Add the chicken and mix until cooked through
- Once the chicken is cooked, add the broccoli and mix everything for 2 minutes
- In a bowl, combine the oyster sauce, sugar, toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, and water.
- Pour this mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Mix well for a minute
- Add the cornstarch mixed with water and mix well for another minute
- Serve with rice and enjoy 🙂
