Who doesn’t love quick recipes?? Somedays when I don’t have time, I prepare okra masala. This is a popular dish in many Indian homes and is one of the easiest to prepare. It’s got all the masala flavor and the okra goodness to create a memorable dish. It’s best had with chappatis or phulkas. So good!
Time:
- Prep time – 15 minutes
- Cook time – 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- Okra (Cut into 1-inch pieces then slice into quarters)- 500 g
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Amchoor powder – 1/4 tsp
- Jeera powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp (Reduce to 1 tbsp if you want it healthier)
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
Method:
- In a large mixing bowl, add the cut bhindi. To this add all the above remaining ingredients and mix it all together until the bhindi is well coated with masalas
- Now heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and fry the marinated bhindi for 5 minutes. Then, cover and cook for 10 minutes, you can add 2 tsp of water so that it doesn’t get burnt
- Serve hot with chappatis 🙂
