Some of the best snacks in the world come from India….samosa’s, pani puri, pav bhaji to name a few! Today I’ll be sharing a simple corn chaat recipe with you. It’s great for a mid morning and mid afternoon snack and the healthier you make it, the better for you. I wanted to recreate the flavours of the chaat using corn as the main ingredient which resulted in a mouth watering delight 🙂
Time:
- Prep time – 10 minutes
- Cook time – 7 minutes
Ingredients:
- Corn kernels (Cooked) – 2.5 cups
- Cooked Baby Potatoes (Peeled and Cut into Bite Sized Pieces) – 3
- Peppercorns (crushed) – 1 tbsp
- Sugar – 1tsp
- Cooking oil – 50 ml OR Butter – 1 tbsp
- Onions seeds – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
- Black Pepper Powder – 1/8 tsp (OPTIONAL)
- Sev for garnish (OPTIONAL)
Method:
- Heat the oil (or butter) in a pan. Add the onion seeds, crushed pepper and cook on high heat for few seconds
- Turn heat down to medium. Add sugar, pepper powder, salt, curry leaves and saute for a few seconds
- Add the steamed corn and potatoes. Saute until it is gently combined with the spices and masalas. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat
- Ready to serve:)
