Today, I was craving for some pasta. So I decided to go back to my aunt’s trusted spaghetti marinara recipe. It’s as tasty as it looks and totally did the job I wanted it to do. Satisfied the ghosts in my tummy :). The most beautiful part is that I can cook so many of these meals in such a short time. It’s the best for a weekday dinner!
Time:
- Prep time – 5 minutes
- Cook time – 20 minutes
Ingredients for Pasta Sauce:
- Ground beef (I use 90% Lean) – 1/2 kg
- Large Red Onion (Chopped) – 1
- Garlic (chopped) – 1 tsp
- Red Pasta Sauce (I use Bertolli – Olive oil and Garlic) – 1 Jar
- Oregano – 1 tsp
- Red chilli flakes – 1/2 tsp
- Parmesan for garnish (while serving)
Ingredients for Spaghetti:
- Spaghetti – One handful
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Olive oil – 1 tsp
Method for Pasta Sauce:
- Heat little olive oil in a wok. Add the chopped garlic and onions. Saute until light brown
- Add oregano and red chilli flakes. Saute
- Add the ground beef. Make sure to divide the ground beef into smaller chunks while you saute. Do this until all the beef redness has gone
- Add the Pasta sauce and mix until well combined. Saute for three minutes
- Pour the ready marinara sauce into a serving bowl. Garnish with some parmes

Method for Spaghetti:
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the salt and olive oil. Then add the spaghetti and boil for 8 minutes (approx.).
