Asian Bean Sprouts Salad

Today I paired a healthy salad with our Asian lunch (fried rice and sesame chicken). So I took my sprouts recipe from the past and changed it up a little bit. The result was a fresh, crunchy, sprout salad with a spicy kick. We loved it and hope you will too!

Time: 

  • Prep time – 5 minutes
  • Cook time – 5 minutes

Ingredients: 

  • Bean Sprouts – 350 g
  • Sambal Oelek – 1 tsp
  • Hoisin Sauce – 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic (Minced) – 1/2 tsp
  • Low Sodium Soy Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Small Green Chilli (Chopped) – 1
  • Sesame Oil – 2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Green Onion (Chopped) – 3
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds – 1 tbsp

Method: 

  1. Rinse the sprouts, then blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and allow to cool in cold water
  2. In a heated pan, toast the sesame seeds and garlic. Maintain at a medium low temperature
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked sprouts, sambal oelek, hoisin sauce, green chilli, green onion, soy sauce, salt, sesame oil, and the toasted ingredients
  4. Enjoy 🙂
