Dal Tadka

This homemade style dal tadka a.k.a tempered dal is my sister in law’s recipe. The day I made it I couldn’t thank her enough as it took me back to simple everyday Indian cooking. It was something she picked up while studying in Delhi, which is home to some of the tastiest dal recipes. There are many types of dal tadka but I prefer this version as it is healthier. Sometimes I chop spinach and add it to the dal if I want to be really healthy. A mouthful of this wholesome dal with rice will leave you so content 🙂
